Aimée Girdwood is an internationally experienced sustainability and corporate responsibility professional, educator, and corporate lawyer with a master’s degree in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge. Aimée’s purpose is to help leaders, teams and organisations thrive in the long-term and have a positive impact on the world in which they operate. Aimée spent 6 years in practice in South Africa and the United Kingdom with a focus on energy and procurement law before starting her professional life as an independent consultant and entrepreneur. Since then, Aimée has partnered for the last 11 years with a variety of clients – companies, law firms, government, NGOs, think tanks, development banks and universities to design, understand, implement, communicate, and educate on sustainability and ESG- related opportunities and challenges, laws, policies, programmes and governance processes. Asides from Aimée independent consulting work, she is co-founder of Stories Evolved, an international boutique consulting and advisory services firm that focuses on supporting organisations on their ESG journey. She consults with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) on developing their online executive programmes in sustainability. She is active in a range of sustainability and ESG networks and speaks on the importance of lawyers and business leading transformation in the responsible conduct of business. Aimée was the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s Southern Africa Ambassador for 2017-2019. Aimée is passionate about the power of education and sits as a governor on the board of an independent primary school in Johannesburg, South Africa.
