06 Sep Africa’s Premier Property Investment Summit Calls On The South African & African Investor Community To Stand Together
Friday, 6 September, Johannesburg. The 10th annual African Property Investment (API) Summit and its organiser API Events, a pan-African business operating across the continent, strongly condemns the vicious and criminal attacks on African expatriates and businesses operating in South Africa.
The looting, destruction, and loss of life, visited on men and women in South Africa are criminal. These actions are affront to the values and vision of API Events, a company founded to drive investment and development in Africa. We believe that Africans should have the opportunity to build businesses and operate across the continent without fear. We urge the South African Government to act strongly against criminal elements and publicly engage with the broader African business and investment community. However, as a platform for private sector investment across Africa, we believe that Africa only flourishes when we are united as one. Over the past decade, we have witnessed how investment and prosperity in South Africa and Africa are increasingly entwined, and that sustainable and inclusive economic growth is only achievable when it is shared and African led.
As a company with industry leading conferences in Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Cote D’ Ivoire, Botswana, Ghana, Mozambique and Kenya, we acknowledge our role in creating an environment for men and women from across our divergent continent to meet and build the houses, shops, hospitals, factories, roads and new cities, Africa needs to prosper.
We look forward to once again welcoming our partners from across Africa’s many growing cities at this year’s API Summit, which will take in place in Johannesburg on October 2 & 3, as well as our 5th annual West Africa Property Investment (WAPI) Summit, which will be hosted once again in Lagos.
Your safety and Summit experience while attending our current and future events will always remain our top priority.
