Josh Panknin is a commercial real estate professional with 10+ years industry experience, including research, acquisitions, financing, bond trading, and full-stack technology development. Josh is adept at detailed research and feasibility studies, acquisitions analysis, structuring debt, mezzanine, and equity financing for commercial real estate, multi-variable sensitivity analysis, preparation of lender presentations and offering memoranda, and negotiations. He is also co-founder of a small commercial real estate investment firm. Josh improved Deutsche Banks’ secondary CMBS real estate credit analysis and valuation platform for securitized commercial mortgages and led the development of an automated property analysis model capable of compiling market data, historical property performance, and valuation sensitivity analysis.
Tosin Ajose is a business lawyer with over a decade experience. She is well known for her commercial savvy, excellent analytical skills, vast transactional experience and her relentless desire to add value to her clients through innovative solutions, forward thinking and attention to details.
An astute public speaker and an IFLR ranked lawyer, Tosin until very recently headed the Real Estate/Construction, Capital Markets and Corporate Commercial Teams in a top commercial law firm in Nigeria, she is currently the Lead Advisor in DealHQ, a boutique transaction advisory firm in Lagos, Nigeria.
Obinna Okwodu is CEO of Fibre. Fibre provides guaranteed rental income for property owners in Nigeria, while being the easiest way for tenants to find and pay for a rental home in the country. Obinna has been at Fibre since June 2016 in which time the company has generated over N400 million ($1 million) in guaranteed rental income, has served hundreds of tenants, and has a tenant waitlist of over 4,000 people. Prior to Fibre, Obinna worked as an analyst in Morgan Stanley’s real estate team in New York. He holds a dual degree in Civil Engineering and Management Science.
Ibraheem Babalola is the Co-Founder/CEO of Muster. Ibraheem is responsible for business development, growth, expansion and overall strategy of the company. Ibraheem has a broad professional experience from working across commercial banking, SAAS, human capital management and investment banking in Nigeria and the UK. Ibraheem has advised private and listed companies on Investment and real estate transactions and was part of the Lagos Smart City Project (a $300m project). He has been featured across Business and Tech Programs (most recently on CNBC International in London). Ibraheem is passionate about disrupting Africa’s Real Estate sector using technology.
Sethebe Manake is a business owner, standing at the helm of Botswana’s first Property Research and Consulting Firm. She has extensive experience in the real estate industry particularly with pension fund portfolios, listed property portfolios, consortiums, joint ventures and privately owned portfolios. Her last corporate role was Chief Executive Officer of listed property company Letlole La Rona, before being offered a regional Asset Management position at Stanlib South Africa. Sethebe holds a Bachelor of Science in Property Studies from the University of Cape Town and a Master of Science in Strategic Management from the University of Derby and Botswana Accountancy College.
Wayne Berger is a PropTech expert, with an international MBA, and is currently MD at iShack Ventures (a Venture Builder developing disruptive technologies in Real Estate, FinTech and EduTech sectors). He founded and chairs iShack Digital Consultancy, specialising in international online advertising and innovation initiatives. Wayne holds a B.Com. Informatics and B.Com. Hons. Investment degree. He is a registered principal real estate practitioner and holds international certifications in Gamification and New Venture Finance. Wayne is co-founder of Venture Network SA, an NPO with the intention of stimulating the SA startup ecosystem. Wayne is a guest speaker specialising in advanced digital marketing strategy and exponential organisation attributes.
Cairon Clarke is the Co-Founder of PlotPeer. He is an experienced business consultant and specialises in supporting global financial institutions with the aim to deliver bespoke wealth and investment management systems. Cairon has helped clients such as St James Place, Old Mutual Wealth, FNB, ANZ, Stanlib, Investec Wealth and Investment to translate complex business requirements into functional system capabilities; working with financial services and banking groups across the U.K, South Africa and Australia and providing detailed analysis and subject matter expertise.
Having lived in Geneva, London and Brussels, Zama is now putting down roots in South Africa to help build an ecosystem for what3words. Zama previously worked with Danish companies to support their market entry in South Africa, and prior to this, spent three years in Brussels working in European public affairs with companies in the environmental space. Zama completed her Master’s degree in International Political Economy at the London School of Economics.
Jonty Melamed is Founder and CEO of Visual Renders, one of the largest rendering studios on the African continent. Visual Renders are architectural rendering specialists that take pride in providing the following services: 3D Renderings, 3D Perspectives, 3D Fly-Overs, 3D Walkthroughs. Jonty established Visual Renders in 2004 at the age of 20 years old. Their current project portfolio now boasts over 500 successfully completed projects. Visual Renders’ client base includes architects, property developers and interior designers, both nationally and internationally.
Ben Shaw After completed his studies in Finance and Accounting at the University of Cape Town, and gained corporate experience as an M&A investment banker at J.P. Morgan Chase in Johannesburg. Ben left the bank in 2015 to start HouseME. Ben is an Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Fellow and has had his work published by Flux Trends. He also represented South Africa in the CFA Challenge in 2014 and has been part of various entrepreneurial delegations around the world. Ben is the Chief Executive of HouseME which has expanded into a national property technology company over the last 18 months.
Phillip Jarman is the Co-founder, COO and UK Director of Seso Global. He has an MBA, and a GDL BA (Hons). Phillip spent 7 years at UBS Wealth Management assisting with bespoke investment strategies for Ultra-HNW African based Clients. This helped him develop an extensive business network across the African continent. He was appointed as GM at Anglo African Enterprises, an IT Consultancy in Mauritius. His mandate was to invest in UK based fintech start-ups and sell the technologies into African based financial institutions. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (Level 4).
